LEAD 1000
LEAD1000 first introduced the vocabulary that applied to many of the leadership skills I was already utilizing. It has emphasis on the importance of moral courage and ethical leadership. It allows students to recognize leadership theories applied in the real world.

COMM 1300: Public Speaking
COMM1300 helped me better develop my public speaking skills and build my confidence. My peers and I gave one another advice on how to improve our speaking skills after presenting speeches to the class. The course also assisted me in examining public speaking inĀ personal, civic, and professional settings.
EDUC 3013: School and Society
EDUC 3013 solidified my interest in working with younger generations. It helped me understand how to apply my leadership skills into the world of education. The course also discusses the complex relationship between schools and the larger society of which they are a part.

EDUC4161: Children's Literature
EDUC 4161 exemplified my understanding of children's literature andĀ helped me improve my skills in reading and performing children's literature so that it appeals to them. It took a combination of my sociology, leadership and communication skills to fully put my skills to practice as a teacher in this course as a senior.
LEAD4000: Capstone
This capstone course has led me to integrating all the leadership skills, experiences, and topics I've learned in my pursuit of the Leadership Studies minor. I had to put my leadership skills to test and complete a challenging wicked problem project, collaborate with peers and members of the community, and use critical thinking skills to solidify my understanding of leadership theory.
